Hello,
I have some good gigs coming up that I want to tell you about:
This Sunday, October 17:
with Dan Carlson
Sin-e 150 Attorney St. (betw. Houston and Stanton
7:30 PM
Dan writes smart, catchy pop music with great changes and chords, not country in the least. Band features vibes, keys, steel and the other usual suspects. Check out songs at:
www.danielcarlson.com
Wednesday, October 20:
with C Gibbs and the Cardia Brothers
The Rodeo Bar, 375 3rd Ave., at 27th Street
Two sets, starting at 10:00 PM
Christian Gibbs writes expansive multi-modal country music. Finely crafted, and executed with wild abandon, which you can see while drinking Lone Stars and eating peanuts.
Would love to see some of my local forum friends at the shows.

And Lawrence, I should point out that Christian's band does not have a b@njo, nor do we wear cowboy hats. That NYT article seemed to suggest that a b#njo and a few Stetsons alone a country band make. I still can't believe a reporter would do a piece on country music in NYC and not find at least one local band to interview. Jimmy Nations, the Fandanglers, CGibbs, Sean Kershaw, Western Caravan, come on now.
May have to start reading the Daily News or the Post.

Tonight's the big night, everybody. This show will be a special one for me, as for the first time in history, a band will be playing one of my compositions written on the steel. It's an instrumental called "The Red Hook Chicken" and sounds like what might happen if Lloyd Green sat in with The Meters. I'd love to see some of my forum friends there for this song's debut.
