I just replaced my Wallace True-Tone with a hum-bucking Tonealigner p/u.

This Sunday's "Angel Kisses" will be heard hum-free!

I'm likin' this p/u.

Erv,
We be Pentecostal Holiness, sometime we get extremely happy in the spirit..

(quote)"The good Lord loves when you give praises to Him on an instrument of 10 strings"

I have 12,maybe that explains it, besides I have a source for really good gospel tabs that help my playing quite a bit.

Playing GOSPEL music is great!

Because HE is worthy of all praise!

The devil doesn't want you to play for the LORD, he will try to fight against it but GOD is worthy of all praise, honor and glory!

GOD bless you!

I love it!

Kirk P Dighton wrote:I have found a new niche since I have begun playing with a contemporary Christian band called Heavenwind Ministries. I started out just playing guitar but have migrated in to mixing steel with it and everyone loves it. Its not like playing regular "country" style steel and I have my own style anyway but am loving it! Anyone else play steel on this music? Love to hear your experiences. Kirk
The church I go to has a contemporary Christian type music service. I have noticied when I go. There are a couple of songs they do. Where a steel guitar would most definitely add to it. I have been wanting to talk to them about letting me sit in with them, one Sunday. But it's hard for me to do when I have every other Sunday off.

Tommy,
Talk to your music director, and go for it, you will never regret it!!!!!! I used to sit out there and mentally play along till I finally asked to sit in,now I really look forward to playing every service. We just finished a revival this week, Man what an experience, talk about letting your hair down, Erv, you should have been there. I wish all of you could have been there.

Bill,
I'm sure the Lord is blessing you.
The Holy Spirit can really move through the steel guitar.
There have been several times when I would be playing and I would look down at the congregation and someone would be crying.
And I don't think it was because my playing was that bad! :whoa:

I have played in church before, Bill. In a Pentecostal,Full Gospel church too, I have even played in a couple of local Southern Gospel bands as well. And you are right, there's nothing like it.

Erv,your playing did not do that. It is when someone is moved by the Spirit, they'll weep as sign of the yoke of bondage that Satan has had them under. Those tears are tears of joy and peace, that God's love is taking hold of them and cleansing their soul.

Tommy,
Those tears that are shed are just a partial payment we receive for playing the Lord's music. :D
