Jeff Kearns now with Steve Miller Band
We recently met a guy named Jeff Kearns who drives for Steve Miller, apparently he is an old steel and banjo player and never mentioned it to his boss. Now that Steve knows his talents he wants to learn banjo and steel himself and have Jeff play with the band sometimes. This has turned into a great opportunity for us and we are really thankful to Jeff and Steve for having us build this banjo. Steve Miller was a really cool guy and he hooked up Jeff with a banjo behind his back as a gift and then ordered a couple more for himself. If you know Jeff from the old days around Nashville say hello and get him picking more and maybe even get him on the forum. Here is a quick demo video my boss made of Steve's banjo. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ufblJ_lrKdA

I saw Steven Stills with Manassas in the early 70's. He started the show by himself playing a blues style banjo without finger picks that just blew me away. I can picture Steve Miller doing the same thing. I am a big Steve Miller fan and I can't wait to hear him play the banjo and pedal steel. Swingtown is a perfect song for the pedal steel guitar.
