We do have a great line-up like Lee Ogle said and we are very excited as the convention is getting closer and we are going to have a wonderful time with friends. We will have food available, kinda like a family picnic and it's kinda like a family reunion only with awesome music in the background ! Donna, so glad that you can make it this year as we really enjoy hearing Jerry & Austin play and I'm sure since they played "cowtown days" that alot of the local's will be out to hear them play again. We'll be seeing ya'll.....

Three weeks and counting! Would like to tell everyone that there is a Renaissance Fair going on Saturday, Oct. 2 here also. It'll be north of town at the high school grounds. Admission is $5.00. Also, there will be a biscuit & gravy breakfast Saturday morning and a pancake feed Sunday morning at the convention. Its put on by the Chamber of Commerce and The Kiwanis Club here. Hopefully the city wide yard sale will be going on too. Looks like a weekend of fun. Be sure and put us on your schedule for Oct. 1,2,3. Thanks, Ray

KSGA Convention
11th & East Ave.
Baxter Springs, Kansas
Oct. 1,2,3, 2004
If anyone is wanting t-shirts with the KSGA logo on front and a steel guitar enclosed with Kansas Steel Guitar Association on back, I am taking orders for them right now. They come in S-M-L-XL-XXL and are 50% Polyester and 50% Cotton. They come in Navy Blue, Maroon, Black and Red and they are only $10.00 apiece. I need the orders now and the money asap. We had several people inquire last year about wanting to buy them, so were are making them available ahead of time this year. Get your orders in now. Ray Qualls(President)KSGA

There's a possibility that our good friend Fred Justice from Globe, Arizona will make it this year. We're keeping our fingers crossed and looking forward to hearing him on that new Rains steel. We sure hopes it works out. Ray

Fred.....we're so hoping that you can make it to our show and also we want to come to your show in the next year or so and anxious to meet your wife too.Ray has a sister that's lives in Arizona,so that's a good excuse for about a visit in January. It's so nice to meet so many wonderful friends along the way and that's what is so great about the steel guitar conventions....

Ray & Elizabeth,
I too hope it works out for me to make it to your show, here's the deal.If Bobby has my guitar done on or before the 30th then I can swing through Texas and pick it up,then on north to your show.Just talked to Bobby yesterday and he says it'll be done so im excited and hope i'll be there. Also, that would be nice if you two would get to come out west for our show in January.

Our first kick off night,(friday evening)was an absolute success!! Our local members of the club played and did a wonderful job and the back-up band made it happen,as they call them the back bone to a great show. Then Louie Hallford & Fred Justice played together and as the saying goes,"Rock until the house comes down" just blew the crowd away and after playing their last song the crowd still wanted more,so they played another song together, very impressive! Our local guys just really did a wonderful job too,Paul Troop,Glen Vaughn,David Cobb,Lee Ogle with his son & daughter,Doug Hudson and my husband Ray Qualls....well done you guys, you're the "Best".....and last but not least,Rob Parker did alot of our MC and also singing, what a voice,he sure is helping make our show and we just really appreciate you,Rob my friend.....

Just a note to say that I saw Terry Bethel last night at the "Paul Harris" show and he confirmed that he will be with you all on Sunday in Baxter Springs....would love to have been there myself but Mother's come first. Back to Terry, he was in great form and thanks to the sound guys who had him up in the mix. Folks, this is a great show and if you're planning on a Branson trip, do yourself a favor and include Terry in your plans. One other thing, vital to those of us who love to gherm the stars...the entire band makes themselves available for meeting the public.... i.e. they don't stay in the dressing rooms between shows but rather come out and mix with the audience...we like that don't we.
