randy, would it devalue the steel too much if you used an emmons rod?

I don't know about that...it might change the sound :D

Seriously, are they not the same rods as Emmons rods? I'm curious.

I have a hunch that all the threads on these guitars are metric, so Emmons rods might not be interchangeable with the hex end threads. The hole in the hex end may also be sized for a metric pedal dowel pin.
