Pretty basic here...I'm putting in a new pickup switch on my Fessy. What's the schematic for wiring up a standard 3-way E9—both—C6 switch?

There are two different types of double-throw switches that have a center position; an "on-off-on" (which is called "center off"), and an "on-on-on" switch (which is called "center on"). To use both pickups in the center position, you must use a "center on" switch. A switch that is normally "off" in the center position cannot be wired to be "on", as the difference is inside the switch.

Here you go:

p.s.
Of course, just substitute 'neck' and 'bridge' for 'e9' and 'c6'. Smile
A single pole switch should work too.

Thanks guys. It's an on-on-on switch. Where would I solder the ground for each pickup? On a guitar with a tone and/or volume pot I solder it to the back of the pot, but this guitar has just the switch.

The ground lug on the output jack is a good place to connect all grounds.

Like Brad said!

Hi Nathan,
I'd solder the 2 pickup ground wires together and then rout them to the ground lug on the output jack.

You may need to solder a piece of wire on, to reach the ground lug of the output jack.

I'd use insulated wire to avoid any chance of it shorting out along the way.

Good luck!
