thursday nite,my band played the local county fair. we had a large crowd, around the stage. I had alot of people coming up, and telling me,and other band members, love the steel,or that"s good country music. I had also got another country band in to play on saturday. they also had a large crowd. they also have a good steel player [ Herb Loomis ] .both our bands are booked for next year.alot of folks, asks me ,where ya playing next ? we have been playing every weekend, around here. We have played the same venue, for 5 years straight. So ,i guess old classic country has not died off around thees parts.then i have also put up fliers, about our next steel guitar in sagertown,pa november 15 . some are planning on coming to the jam. I love classic country music ,and the steel guitar. steel guitar good, banjo bad. _________________ Terry Kinnear [ steel wondering] |

Terry, that's a lot of fun. I enjoy playing the SMALL rural fairs in little towns. Sometime they will have things set up in front of the local court house in the center of town. It's heart warming to see the city [town] folks and the country folks with their children get together and have a good time.Reminds you of what America is all about. Yea, it"s great to see a group of elderly folks out on the floor ,dancing with some young kids. everybody having a great time ,we are booked again next year. but i have to admit ,i get nervous playing in front of the court house, being a bit of a rebel. they, the tend to keep a close eye on me..they can"t prove,I put the skunk, in the police car.dykbc _________________ Terry Kinnear [ steel wondering] |
