amp set up

Post by Thomas Schwagart »

I have a marshall mg250 amp. Should I be using any delay or chorus or reverb? I am working on the Backup Behind Singer Book . Just a beginner.

Thank you for all of the previous answers and for any on this topic also.

Tom,

I would use the effects that sound good to you and develope your own sound. Some music and styles may require a bit of overdrive others reverb others maybe some delay. It is totally up to you.

My advice would be not to over-use any effects. I have listened to bands where the guitar player used the same boring chorus and distortion all night and the steel player who had so much reverb/delay going you couldn't hear the notes clearly.

I would leave a little reverb on just to warm it up a bit and experiment to have fun.

During recent weeks, there was a similar post here on the Forum about this same subject. Lot's of good stuff appeared in that post. Might be a good place for YOU to take a peak at?
