What kind of problems can I anticipate when trying to move a Sho Bud rack from the C6 neck to the E9 neck? Is it something that a person with reasonable mechanical apptitude can do? I don't have any problems having a pro doing the work on my steel if I'm over my head, but if something is in my ballpark, I'll give it a try.

Yes the C6th Racks have a crossbar that extends the width of the underside. The E9 Racks do not.
