Just did a side by side comparo between my JBL E-130 in a bass reflex type encl and an Altec 4178H 12" in an open back and unbelievably the Altec not only has sweeter highs, it also has deeper bass response, However i think i would like to have the Altec reconed. There used to to be a facility in Oklahoma that claimed to have some of the original factory workers to do repairs on Altecs and everyone was saying that if you wanted your speaker to sound like the the original, you had to send it there. Any of you remember the address of that facility? Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks John Hopper |

I use Altecs too. They are a little sweeter on the top end than most! _________________ Dave Zirbel-

Thurlon,
Congratulations on your choice of Alect 417 8H's speakers.
I have used my pair with a '76 Twin for 3 years and absolutely love them.
