Craig, not to take anything away from the Arklahoma club, but our club, the KSGA(Kansas) is only 30 minutes north from Grove. We meet the same Sunday as the Arklahoma guys and we'll be having our 7th show the 2-3-4 of October. You'd be welcome to come here also. One of these days I'd like to make their meeting but its kinda hard as ours is the same day. They are a great bunch of guys and I know that you would enjoy it. Ray _________________ Ray Qualls

Hey guys
It was not only nice to have the 11 steel players and help in the band, but it has been a thrill for me to meet, play with and get to know Gene Haugh. He built so many of the Sho-Bud steels for Gretsch as well as several of their guitars and I had heard of him for several years but prior to about a year ago never had the chance to meet him. Gene brought several pictures along for us to see of everyone from Jimmy Day & Buddy Emmons to local players. Thanks for joining us Gene.
Also, it was exciting that so many of the players had in the past or are still taking lessons from Jerry Roller. He is such a gentle individual and willing to share his talent in the promotion of the steel guitar. Thanks Jerry for your contibution.
We discussed doing a "Concert of Steels" for the public the first Sunday of November. This should be a great time and give many of the players a time to share their talent.
