Lace will be making all of Bill's pickups from here on out. Might be a good time to stock up, because the prices are sure to go up and due to human nature, it's inevitable that "the old ones are better" will come into play. Bill is a great admirer of the Alumitone.

That's interesting...and also reassuring. I've ordered an Alumitone in a guitar I'm having built. I've always liked the Bill Lawrence LXR-16 pickup better than anything else I've tried up until now. But the Alumitone has been so well received that I want to try one and if Bill Lawrence is an admirer that has to be a feather in Lace's cap. |

.......At Summer NAMM 2006 in Austin, Texas, Bill Lawrence dragged me over to hear this new pickup at the Lace booth.
Bill demonstrated the pickup to me and I found it impressive. I spoke to Jeff Lace about possibly doing one for steel guitars......... |
I found this almost* the coolest part of this discussion. Bill's enthusiasm speaks volumes.
*the coolest part is the pickup---love my 12 string Alumitone in my Fess. Didn't get one for the Carter because I'm totally satisfied with the BL XR-16. |
