VEGA CONSOLE - Any good????

Post by Carl Leyland »

Hi All -

Was watching this on ebay.

I ended up not bidding but was somewhat interested.

I have seen a couple of Vega console type steels listed on various sites.

Does anyone have experience with these? Are they good?

I understand they used some kind of humbucking pickup.

Thanks!
CSL.

Michael,
I know that some of the Vega steels had dual coil pickups, but were they actually wired out of phase so as to cancel out hum?

According to one of George Gruhn's books, "They were!"

Sorry to say it was stolen from me in Boston , the later part of 1948.Hungry I decided to join the Airforce.. Ahhh Good and Bad Memories.. Lee
