Commander Cody Interview on YouTube

Post by Joey Ace »

Here's a recent interview with The Commander.

Very interesting for someone like me, who cut their teeth on this stuff. The West Virginia Creeper is briefly mentioned.

Cody Video

Post by Steve Davis »

Hey Joey - thanks for mentioning me. I had a great time playing with CC&LPA when we left Michigan and came to Berkeley in 1969. It was a great time to come from the midwest and catch the end of the psychedelic 60's. I never tried to "be the Commander" as Frayne states in the video. I left the band mostly because of divergent musical preferences. Cody never has anything positive to say about my contribution to his band. He was mad and defensive when I left. Part of the excitement of his early band was the inclusion of an almost unknown instrument (in the 60's rock scene), the pedal steel guitar.
