ID help for this model Bronson???

Post by James Fleming »

Hello,
I am trying to find out the company that manufactured this model Guitar for Mr. Bronson. I can find info on the Ric and Supro Models but nothing on this one. My first thought was maybe Gibson, due to the proximity of Kalamazoo to Detroit. The head stock reads Bronson Electric
Since I am very new to this, I thought I should take this one apart and up-load a full set of photos for you to view.

Thank you for your help.

Jim

BTW: removing the the screw in jack is driving me nuts. ( It will however be a short trip) Cant get a wrench to fit it well and when I do the whole unit turns.

According to Vintage Guitar Magazine most Bronson guitars and amps were made by Rickenbacker, Dickerson, or Valco.

Is this pup arrangement consistent with any Valco or Dickerson models that you know of?

Pre-war and Post--war Regal catalogs as posted earlier. (Note: the war in question is World War II.)

I think it's a Harmony made lap steel as well.

new photos and info for unknown Bronson

Post by James Fleming »

Here are some more detailed photos of the unknown Bronson. I also found a serial # on the back of the headstock it reads B1718. I checked out the Regal and Harmony catalogs that Mr Allen posted, but could not confirm. The Jack is still giving me fits. I do not want to bugger up the threads, but can not get the entire unit from spinning. Any ideas before I drill it out???
Thanks for taking a look,
Jim
