Thanks for posting that Laurent. Mr. Bob Hoffnar is actually Wayne's steel player, I am on his new C.D. and toured with him in the past. It was pretty cool getting a day named after me, although I can think of 5 musicians in Austin right off the top of my head who are more deserving of that than me. The Mayor was A.W.O.L after we performed that first number, so we just started playing "My Rose Of Waikiki," and just as soon as we started playing it, he showed up. I would love to hear John Ely's rendition of "My Rose.." He is a fantastic steel player. Does anyone know if he recorded that?

Anthony, I liked your Rose of Waikiki, but it ended too soon.I have read that it isn't supposed to be easy to play both western swing and Hawaiian with equal authenticity, but Tony makes it look easy
Two players that currently can do both Hawaiian and Western Swing with authenticity are John Ely and Leonard Zinn. I mean real Hawaiian. I will request Rose of Waikiki for John Ely in Joliet. Want to come and hear him play it?
John Ely will be the guest artist at Joliet at the Hawaiian Steel Guitar Convention, October 8-10.

Congratulations, Tony. That's quite an honor!
