LET IT BE ME, C6 Lap Steel ---> Listen --->
I'm working on a C6 lap steel Song Book... 25 Songs for 6-string C6, and it should be completed in about a month.
I'm recording the tunes now, and I thought forum members would like to hear a sample. Here's my arrangement of "Let It Be Me", basic melody, plain and simple.
-----> CLICK
The guitar: '56 Stringmaster, short scale. Yes, it's a D-8, but to record the 6-string material I removed two strings! Makes things easier.

Nicely done Doug. I've sat and played many an Everly Brothers tune on my Stringmaster but I'm not ready to take any strings off just yet. I find they come in too handy. Sounds great for certain...no mistaking that tone. I'd like to hear your version of Crying in the rain if you take requests. Good luck with the book and cheers man.

Doug's music projects are all commendable...................
You do excellent work on these musical projects.
I commend you. I wish I had the talent to do as much, as well.
Tell me Doug......... Do you have ANY backup tracks for sale? I'm always excited to hear your latest back-up........your choices are really appropriate.
WHAT might you charge for a series of rythmn tracks on CD?

Thanks Ray and David, I hope to have the song book/CDs ready by the middle of September. 25 songs, 2 CDs (melodies & backup tracks). When it's ready I'll post an announcement here on the Forum and on my web site.
Ray, I like the idea of rhythm tracks for steel guitar standards and other standards, but there are already a lot of good rhythm tracks on the market, like Herb Steiner's tracks (available through the Forum catalog), and Steve Alcott's excellent backup tracks, so I'm not sure what I could add to that.

Doug, let's have a talk........................
I've been extremely impressed by YOUR tracks since I heard one of your earliest. They have THAT SOUND that I've been seeking for decades.
I have nothing negative to say about any other tracks that are available on the market/Forum.
I DO LIKE YOURS!
I would like to get a set of YOURS!
I hope you'll reconsider.
I'm older than YOU! So there..............

Excellent track Doug......
I am looking forward to the C6 book and tracks. Still stuggling with my little rogue, but thanks to George's DVDs, I have learned a lot more, just need more practice time and patience I guess.
God bless

I might be a beginner now, but someday I'm gonna steel the show.
