Hi,

Does anyone know exactly what size the little machine screws are that hold the coverplates on my mid-40s B6?
I tried some #4 and they were too big... which makes me think "3" but i've been told no such thing exists...wtf?

thanks.

"Radio Shack", an electronics store carries number 2 machine screws. You might try a similar store up your way.

They are 3-48 screws. I use the 3-48 pan head type, since the original head style is not available anywhere I've looked. Usually 1/2 inch length, but if you have some holes that have bad threads, a 5/8 inch length may grab some better threads down in there a bit farther.
Stainless steel screws of course. You may find some at McMasterCarr web site.

A few years back I needed some #3 screws for an old National reso coverplate and found a hobby shop that serves model train enthusists was able to order me both screws and a tap. Try searching that route.
