Billy Mata featuring Roger Edgington

Post by Bill Holt »

Billy Mata and the Texas Tradition play Take the A Train

Live at Leon Springs, TX last month. One of the last songs of the night (I sure was tired.) We had a little dance contest going on with several couples on this tune. Nice pickin, Rog.

Bill,

That is great music. I really enjoyed you folks the other night at Anhalt Hall. Everybody was awesome, even though it was hot. Roger said the breeze almost knocked him off his seat.

Keep up the good work.

At last years Convention Roger and I shared a room at the Millennium Hotel. I thought I had a passion for the steel guitar, until I met Roger..... I had a tough time trying to keep up with him moving from stall to stall, steel to steel. I found his melody and improvisation lines very refreshing and easy on the ear.

Thanks for the kind words. I'm really blrssed to work with a band as talented as this one.
Nic. That was a fun trip and you helped make it that way. Are you going this year? Judy and I will be there all weekend.

Roger,
I will unfortunately not be able to make it to this year's convention. Such a pity I won't get to meet the lady to whom all those late-night calls were made!
Just make sure you get a room that does not face the casino billboard, just up the road :D

Brandon,
I'm not going to be at Senglemann Hall. I'll be in St Louis. Kenny Grohman will be playing in my place. He's a great player.

Nic,
My wife doesn't need the billboard. She smells it. Maybe she'll be able to get me another new guitar like before. LOL
