Hello,
Finally the slowest summer ever seems to have come to an end. I have some cool gigs this week, it would be great to see some of my fellow steel players at one of them.
Tomorrow, Thursday August 26th:
The Rodeo Bar with King's County Queens
A crisp, clean sounding country band featuring great writing, harmonies, ukelele and accordion. The music is very sweet and pretty, but the lyrics tell tales of addiction, crime, cheatin', lyin' and stealin'! I will join them on the Williams pedal steel for both sets, starting around 10 PM. Admission is free.
The Rodeo Bar is on the corner of 27th Street and 3rd Ave in scenic Manhattan.
This Sunday, August 29th:
The Mercury Lounge, with Scobee
A pop/indie/country band featuring gorgeous melodies, big choruses, cello and steel guitar. I will also pick some Telecaster for these talented folks. Official set time is 7:30 PM.
The Mercury Lounge is on the corner of Avenue A/Essex Street and Houston Street. One of the best sounding clubs in New York, hands down! Admission will be around 7 bucks or so.
Thanks for reading my post. |
