JJ At the present time i have not started making Pac-A-Seat legs, however if you contact Hummingbird Studios, I think he makes them for the seats he builds.

Jim, Yes they are stainless legs.
The 7/8 diameter is stainless and the 5/8 inner shaft is solid polished aluminum. I make all the clutch parts including the knurled locking collar.
Both the stainless or the aluminum legs are nice in case you get a scratch in them, you can sand with a very fine wet or dry paper and polish them back out. Something that can't be done with chrome.

Holy smokes, stainless legs, lets see, hmmm...
That could be type 304 for resistance to atmospheric corrosion, organic chemicals, and foodstuffs (i.e. beer?)
Or Type 316 which resists corrosion by sulfurous acids.
Or type 440-C which can be hardened.
My favorite is Carpenter 20Cb-3 which is used in the manufacture of high grade gasoline, chemicals and explosives.
But really, congratulations on the legs, stainless is neat. How much for a set of 4 for my Legrand II? |

I saw a set of Don's stainless legs that he made for Dave Decker, and they were great. They look super and they can be polished if they get scratched. That's the best part. Plus they won't rust like chrome will. I'm going to get a set for my Zum as soon as I get back to work.

Jim, The stainless legs are a slight bit heavier than chrome and the aluminum legs are a little lighter than chrome.
The stainless tubing has a wall thickness of .065 and the aluminum tubing has a wall thickness of .058.
If someone wants the exact weight diference of the aluminum, I can do that but I sold the last set of stainless I had over the weekend, so would have to wait till my order of tubing comes in.

For those of you who have asked,I weighed the chrome legs and the aluminum legs and the aluminum legs are a little over 1&1/2# lighter than the chrome.

Don, I think there is a real need for custom length pedal rods for various brands of guitars and that would go right along with your leg production business. Think about it, a raise kit that don't look like one.

jerry, I have made different length rods for the pedals but need to have one of the origional rods in order to get the proper bend or connection to the pedal bell crank.
I have made then out of aluminum or stainless.
