A snidbit of my Dale Watson Days

Post by Ricky Davis »

Here's one from Holland; me and Dale in our finest hour.
It's like a freakin' hour long; and I believe they made a DVD out of it....but someone sent it to me and I haven't seen it since we recorded it. Don't even know the year; maybe 1999 or 2000....don't know....but thought ya'll might enjoy the day.

Good show Ricky. Are you sure this was that long ago? You haven't changed much, except maybe you have gotten a little uglier,(HeeHee) but you play better every time I see you. Hope to get out to see you and Ms Leslie soon. Love ya'll, Jody.

I just wanted to bump this to the top. Just because real country music is not on my radio, does not mean it is not being played. Thanks Ricky.

Equipment on Dale Watson Video

Post by Bill Maynard »

Ricky:

What amp and effects did you use on this video with Dale Watson? Looks like a Laney amp . Advise and thanks great picking, Dale is truly America's best honky tonk entertain today. He was in Green Bay over the week end and the fans here love him and his style of entertainment.

Bill; that was in HOLLAND....not my first choice of Amps....but that's all they had so I plugged into it and off I went...
I think over in Europe when I toured....I brought along some boss pedal reverb thing....(not sure what it was; I'm not big on them); simply because half the amps I had to plug into....had no or aweful reverb.....and that's all I use anyway.

A few years ago i became a Dale Watson fan because of Ricky's playing. If not for Ricky I would not heard of Dale, if you get a chance to see Dale don't miss him he puts on a great show with lots of Steel.

Thanks Ricky

really nice!!
i wish you'd been in holland when i was there at the last watson gig in delft (stars n bars). (but don was excellent, too and is a really nice guy!)
you still got the reference tone for steel for my opinion. and i'm a big fan of your style!!!
when you play your sho bud(s)(wish i had one that nice) or that unbelievable fulawka with an old fender amp, thats great!!

best regards from germany

...by the way - i really would appreciate if you add my myspace profile www.myspace.com/sergiostiletto
there is my first steel recording 'longhorn' which is a steel duo with johan and me. (i'm still a beginner working on the basics)
i'll be around in texas the next year during march and april, maybe you could give me a steel lesson?? that would be more than great!
