Please sign me up for a copy, too, Jody! I hope I'm not too late -- don't want to have to sit on my hands until September (although I can -- if I have to...) ![](http://steelguitarforum.com/cool.gif) |

Thank you, all of you.
I originally planned to have Joey Ace post the Hot Club Of America's release, but I was
not able to get Joey in time.
Smiley was in a better position to post what he did and I apologize to my "Pal Joey". Thank you Smiley. I appreciate all of your comments and hope I dont disappoint any of you when you hear the CD,it is quite old you know,It was originally recorded in 1958,so I hope that you will make allowances for that.
Thanks again and my best to all of you and to my Pal Joey and Smiley Roberts, Thank both
of you for being there when I needed you.
I will keep those of you informed as to the exact date you can expect to receive the CD.
This would have been the happiest day of Johnny's life had he lived long enough to see this happen.
Thanks again. |

Thank You so much for the nice things you have to say about an old recording,I never really thought much of what we did back then.
I guess being young had something to do with it. Rock and Roll was in and we were out.
I remember all to well Santo telling me how much he liked the record and thought his playing was not hip. I told Santo that the kids dance to his music and that his recording of Sleepwalk would be by far the most popular recording of its time and that we (hcoa) were not the in thing.Santo didnt agree,he thought his playing was so simple that it wouldnt make it. Dick Clark saw to it that Santo and Johnny received what was due them and I was happy for them.
I cant believe so many people are raving about this old record but it makes me feel good that you all appreciate the effort we put into it. Those that are gone now would have been happy to hear the things you are saying about them,I do miss those days and miss those three guys. Ian you have been the most supportive from day one and whether or not you realize it,you had much to do with me
getting off my butt and getting this thing resolved.
Thank you Andy, coming from a fine musician like you is a compliment and I appreciate it more than you know.
And to you Al, a pioneer and a GREAT musician
and steel player is an HONOR to read your words of praise.
My wife is still battling but she will win the fight over her illness, thank you for asking.
Meanwhile I hate to use up all this space but
Its difficult not to express my appreciation
to all of you who have had such nice things to say. My efforts were looked upon as being in vain, but it was people like you that kept me trying and struggling to see this happen.
Now I can finish my book and with the help of God my wife will be fine and thats all I want out of life.
Thank all of you ever so much,I dont want to sound redundant, but your words of praise make
me feel so young and proud again. I hope you
enjoy the CD. I only wished all of you could have heard those other three musicians, they were the best, I was just a small part of the greatness that they had,It was they that
made the record what it is not me.
Thanks again.

I am so happy to see this long overdue situation come to a reality.
Jody does deserve the praise that you have honored him with, but there is a Forum member
who was the person who encouraged Jody to get
his old (as he calls it) recording off the dusty shelves and do something with his old
LP.
I have known Jody since the day I was born, well you know what I mean,,and that was back in 1956.
This Forum member has been after Jody to get off his butt and do something.Jody told me and I quote" Man that stuff we did back then
is old hat and there are so many great players today who would want to listen to that stuff?" unquote.
But this Forum friend kept after my friend and bugged him until he convinced Jody to do something.
I wont disclose the persons identity who spent hours with e mail and phone calls to "get er goin".That is Jody's place to thank him publicly not mine and I know he will before I get on him as well.
I for one want to thank that man who had the
interest and stamina to encourage Jody to do
something, if nothing else it would be a nice
tribute to his family to know what Jody accomplished after all those years have lapsed.
I hope and know Jody will let those of you who this man is,because it was he, and he alone that pestered Jody to get his dusty old
recording back to life and pay a tribute to his buddies that are no longer with us.That
in itself started the desire to see his friend John Cucci remembered. That was all that this Forum member wanted and nothing else in return, just to get Jody's mind off his personal issues at home with health problems which are now under control.
I thank that man and I wanted to share this with those of you who may be interested.
There are others who offered help to Jody to see this happen, but this gentleman was the one person that Jody had to face up to and get the job done, and he deserves much of the
credit as well as anyone.
This is as long a story as Jody could write,
but I wanted to give credit where credit is due.I learned from the master of long stories
but I wouldnt trade our friendship for anything.
Thank you for listening, I just thought some
of you would like to know this.
