I need to correct an item posted in my update about the Ohio Steel Guitar Association. In the spirt of being humorous I listed Mr Gary Preston as "President for Life" but in truth he is NOT----he was duly elected and will serve a one year term. At the end of that period a new election will be held which will be in accordance with our articles of incorporation and general policy relating to this, or any other, OSGA office. I have to thank Mr Bruno Voltolini for bringing this to my attention--he is not only a founding member but an esteemed attorney acting as our counsel in more ways than just one!

Along with this correct I also need to add one of the OSGA goals is to increase general public awareness of the steel guitar. While Gospel and country music are usually associated with steel the versatility exhibited by some players has yet to be fully brought to attention. I mentioned an education/informational function that we'd like to explore which would increase our instrument's recognition outside it's traditional role in music.

We still urge anyone with interest to contact us or to become a full-fledged member----it's a good time if nothing more. Plus, your presence and participation would be welcomed!!

Thanks once again!

Thanks J.W. for correcting what you and i knew to be just clean fun . I hope that no one else thought it was serious . Lets have some fun while doing what we love to do . That is to bring back the Steel Guitar if it was ever gone ! It's one of our goals to educate anyone that may be interested in the steel guitar and the many styles of music that can be played on it .It is not just for country or gospel music but any type of music that you have in your heart to play . There is no limit as to what you can play on one .I'm not even going to start to classify all the styles ,but just leave that to you . If we can help anyone please let us know . Steel on my friends . Best regards,,,Gary .

Well, Gary and everyone else---I hope to do more contributing instead of correcting so maybe I'll have to keep my somewhat obscure sense of humor in check. I see a lot of very witty and well-spoken comments posted and love 'em all----it says there's a good bunch of guys here. No worries--I'll get the hang of this sometime soon.

We're still looking for new members---y'all give us a name, address and check and in no time you, too, will be a member of an exciting association!
