| I'm looking for ideas for a stomp box that can cover some extended area. I'm wanting to find something that can range from chorus to vibrato (not tremolo---got that covered) to...I don't know. Can I get flanging or phasing in this too? I'd like to replace a nice sounding chorus (DOD FX 65) and an ok seldom used phaser (Ibanez PH7) on my board with one nice pedal. Any thoughts? |

I have a Dunlop UniVibe that does chorus and vibrato pretty well, but no phase or flanging.
I also recently replaced both the tremelo and phaser pedals on my board with a MoogerFooger MuRF, but it won't do chorus or vibrato.
You might have to get a multifx unit for both chorus and flange/phase in one box, not sure I've seen a single pedal that does both.

Have you considered the Line 6 MM4? Can't vouch for it other than an impressive try out at a guitar show - I was interested in its MuTron BiPhase emulation but it does a lot more besides. I was hoping the price would come down but alas, no... Not the smallest footprint either... And it goes without saying, it ain't analog...

Jon, you can check out this TC Electronic gadget: search product #481878 at www.musiciansfriend.com It does several modulation effects including those you mentioned. Never used one and don't really know anything about them except what I read here.
TC has a pretty good rep though. |

In fact I practically insist on it.
John--that Univibe has been in my sights (as have some other makers' variants).
Jonathan--I'd probably consider an MM5---I'm not an analog freak---but footprint matters. This will be shoe-horned into a tight-packed overpopulated pedalboard. Price does have to matter too, sadly, so exotica won't do.
Jerry---I guess the J gets you in. I'm on my way to check that out right now. |

| Wow--that's pretty impressive. And they have a simpler chorus/flanger too. But the prices ($250--300) kill me. Can't go there. |

I heard a steeler playing through the larger TC Electronics NOVA a couple months ago at Jim Palenscar's shop. It sounded great.
