Sweet Memories-Jerry Braswell and Me

Post by Bill Cunningham »

Recorded at this year's GMF Friday night show. I have had the privilege of working with Jerry for over 10 years now on this band. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WZBE210rcYc

Bill, great tone, my friend. Looks like you were using a Furlong cabinet with that POD. It's a keeper.

Eleven people in that band and don"t they play well together ?
Ive heard bands with only three or four instruments playing over each other and causing a proper mess.

Thanks guys.

Roger, it is a Furlong with a Tommy Dodd programed POD. I also put Alumitones in my ten year old Carter about a month ago. I don't see the need to change anything for another 10 years. Never been a gear hog, but I did pick up a NV 112 last weekend too. How did you like my next to last note on the ending?

Dick, Jerry did Danny Boy Saturday night. If a copy shows up, I will pass it on. Somnwhere here I have a picture of you and me back in '78 in Havelock. I am still trying to find it. Semper Fi.

Alan, regarding the band size, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I think we got real lucky on this tune. At least the banjo player was on the mandolin. :!: We are working to clean things up a bit.

Bill...great feel from you and brill tone off your Carter mate. My Carter Uni is nearly 10 years old too...still performs flawlessly.

Jerry & Bill

Post by Herby Wallace »

Well, I really enjoyed the video. Jerry Braswell has been a friend of mine since back in the late sixties and he is one of my all time favorite singers. We actually worked the road together around 1970. Anyhow, Bill is also a favorite of mine and with both of them together, it is excellent. I too would like to hear more of these great musicians.
