Has anybody replaced the two 12s in a twin with a single 15

Steel guitar amplifiers, effects, etc.

I don’t know whether or not it has the tube pre-amp though.
Simple - look in the back of the amp. You'll *probably* see power tubes and one small tube (the driver tube). That's the most prevalent type of MM.

If you see 4-5 more small tubes, it has a tube preamp.
No chops, but great tone

I did that but it still sounded like a Twin. I like a bassman better any day. And even better a magnatone bass amp.
I finally sold that soleless Twin amp,thank god!
