Play what !!
Had request for the "waltz you saved for me" we played it, the man returned to the band stand and stated "I wanted to hear the "Waltz you saved for Me." I hope it wasn't that bad. Back in the late 50's we were playing the Red Barn in Colo. Springs, every time we played San Antonio Rose a guy would come up and give us $20 dollars. For several years I never learned SGR, then I broke down and learned it. The people do like it, and if they enjoy it, it makes their night.

Hey guys John Hughey played Last Date. I think the last country instrumental I heard was the Grand Ole' Opry Staff band when they had Sonny Burnette and Weldon Myrick on it. And that was record in the early 80's if my memory serves me correctly. Now that was some good pickin' on that for sure. Jimmy Capps and Spider Wilson and Leon Rhodes.
