I love all the "jams",and this one had its share of "special moments" and some of the finest music you'd ever want to hear. Of course, I'm prejudiced and it's no secret that I like hanging out with "music people".

I left with a copy of Ron's "Pure American Steel" cd. Russ told me it was really good, and it sure is. The arrangement on "Always Chasing Rainbows" really moved me; I just really like chords and movements and music that makes me "feel". What I don't understand, though, is how someone with such a potentially dangerous mind...can play with
and have such "heart".
Loved your cd, Ron.

Laney, I've often asked myself that very same question about Ron !!!!!
But ya gotta love him...and it goes without saying that ya have to love Miss Leslie.

Well, yeah, Roy, and now that you mention it, perhaps that's the answer to our question. Leslie has most likely had quite a lot to do with the "heart" in Ron's playing.Just another of the many things you guys owe us girls....LH

Just like to say what a wonderful nite it was...seeing old friends and making new ones....on a different "note",I feel the need to explain why I played 'more than my share' of the jams this year...Randy B. and I played two jams ago and had no intentions to play this one until we were 'cordially invited' by our special guest, and friend, Jerry B. to keep him settled and 'out of trouble' which we were more than happy to do...right Randy?.....we take very seriously the need to get as many 'new-comers', that is as far as NTSGA is concerned, to play the jams and be a part of the club...I won't get into any names but there are truly world class players here in town, down on Broadway, on the road, or wherever that we want and need to come and grace the jam stage with their steel guitar prowess.....I hope that happens in the future.....BTW, the only reason this new thread was started was because Laney hit the wrong button. Once again, it was great seeing all the faces, old and new, at the jam...RH

It was quite a night to remember! And yes, we did keep Jerry out of trouble. But who knows what he might have got into when he left our watchfull eyes? Who knows "For Whom the Steel Tolls." I think some guy named Green had custody of him the next day. Russ, someone said the three of us made a pair?

Seriously, I enjoyed every minute of the night. It was great to see many of our friends again. That was the real treat! I feel honored to have been invited to share the stage with Russ, Laney, and Jerry.

When it comes to tone, touch, feel, execution and "pretty", no one is better than Ron Elliott. Well,,,,jokes too. !
As good as Ron is though, he can't hold a candle compared to Leslie.
AND,,,,,,Leslie gave me a kiss and I'm still high from it. Boy, she's a great kisser.
Toni and I enjoyed the entire program Tuesday night. It just don't get any better.

Ask Ron about the time he walked up to ET in The Nashville Airport with a bunch of pickers waiting around to head to to Wembley, England and asked Him if he ever played in Billy Byrd's band. We all got a big laugh out of that one, but I think ET found it funnier than anybody else. Ron Elliot is one of the funniest people in Nashville.

Leslie Elliot is a Treasure to the steel guitar community, there never was any doubt in my simple mind who ran Music City Mfg. All you had to do was watch Shot walk into the building and check in with Leslie. Almost every Sho Bud Steel and amp out there is a result of Leslie keeping the company on an even keel and this was long before Women were given their due opportunities. She didn't necessarily have the position, but she did the job.

Ron and Leslie Collectively are a Country Music treasure for the work they did at Step One Records. There was some terrific Country music that came from SOR during their time there and probably prolonged the life of real country music much longer than it would have lasted without them.
