Dan,what I do is download a midi file and open Power Tracks Pro and then load the midi file into it and then open the Mixer window of Power Tracks and there you will see each individual track of the midi file. You can delete any of the tracks and you can change the tempo and you can change the key. I have used this program a lot to delete the lead instruments from a midi file and use the remaining tracks to make a rhythm track. One thing to keep in mind is that some midi files are not in separate tracks so your not gonna be able to work with them but those are few and far between. |

I compose a tune in BIAB then import it to PowerTracks where like mentioned before you'll see the individual tracks which can be muted or altered to your liking. Then you can create custom rhythm tracks or record your own lead track and save as a wav or mp3. The PowerTracks mixer works good to really put the finishing touches on your tune. When you import a tune into PowerTracks try opening some of the other windows to see all the cool features that are available. |
