Yet another email scam aimed at forum sellers

I received one of those emails (modeled after the Nigerian money scam), but today I received a new kind of email which is more deceptive. The message reads:

From: mark_flamming@outgun.com
Subject: ur F/S: Session 500
Date: July 6, 2004 8:27:40 AM CDT

hello
i juust mailed to let u know i swaw the advert u placed over the web which is $400 and couldn't help but be interested in it.
pls mail me back with the last price and pictures for verification

All sellers should be wary of emails that do not distinguish between selling codes like "F/S" and the description of the item. If you receive an email like this, it is best to delete and not reply.

Maybe we should require phone inquiries only, or ask that they refer to a phrase or code in the message when they reply?

I closing this because there are somany scams that we could fill up this area of everyone posted about them.

They are not just for our members, they are Internet wide.
