MSA Question for Reece

Post by Michael Witwicki »

Hi Reece!

I just bought my very first pedal steel from Tommy Cass out in Baldwinville MA. I was hoping you could shed some light on it's vintage as well as any other info you might have!

It is an S10 Classic and the serial is: 1C5132

Thank you so much in advance for any info you might have!

Hi Michael......Welcome to the MSA owners family. Your guitar was originally shipped to a music store called B and W Music. (location not known)The specific date of birth was not entered into record, however it was produced in April 1976.

Thank you for playing an MSA.

Michael......It's always gratifying for me to see someone like yourself who takes such sincere pride in their MSA. Your guitar has the potential to look and play as well 100 years from now, as it does today. Thank you for sharing the pictures.

What is the tunable gizmo underneath? a compensator or an adjustable feel stop?
Is it original or added on?

I'll betcha it's a half stop adjustment. You take the lever all the way and set it at the nylon tuner nut. Then you set that one underneath for a half stop. That's how my D-10 is set up.
