Biab USB Drive Question

Does the USB drive that BIAB offers need external power or does it get it's power from the USB port? Also, can I run the USB drive through my main computer and access BIAB on my laptop through a router? I'm thinkin of gettin the UltraPak on the 80GB external hard drive.

Andy the drive gets it power from the USB port. If you want to use the drive on your laptop just plug it into your laptop. I use it for both my computers that way. I have 2009 on the 500GIG drive and it works great. I also have the remote control for it and love it for recording. It is called the TranzPort by Frontier Design Group.
