ISO Online Chord chart generator

I while back I used a web site to generate the the image below which depicts my Dobro tuning. Well I actually had to merge 2 images from an 8-string tuning to generate that image; but I really like this form of chord chart as I find it depicts how the chord positions wrap around each other on the neck.

I would like to find this site again or a similar site which will allow me to generate similar charts for other tunings.

Any suggestions?

I have not yet figured out how to display only the 1, 3, & 5.

On the "diagram" tab, there are green checkboxes on the right. Choose "scale degrees". There won't be a "1", but there will be "R, 3, 5". Same difference.

ChordAlchemy offers lots of different options of chord and scale charts. They are easy to print out too.

I used to use that one but it has been down for a long while. Also, I don't believe you could have more than 6 strings. The original poster shows 10 strings in his diagram.

I can not figure out how to add additional strings nor can I figure out how to get it to display 1/R, 3, & 5 instead of notes.

The LookNoHands.com reference does sound familiar. Although my recollection is that this site only supported up to 8 srings. If it were up I would be back there right now.

I don't know why, but the chord-diagram on looknohands.com doesn't work any more. Too bad, this was really useful. It showed a lot of scales, too.
Micheal Hogg's chord explorer only gives you six strings, as far as I can see. I think you would have to add up additional strings in a second diagram and put those two togehter.
Are there any computerfreaks in this forum who would be able to build a lap steel chord generator with 8 strings or more?

You don't need to. Just do six strings at a time. Do the first six strings then save the screen. Then do strings seven to twelve and save the screen. Continue for as many strings as you like. Then go into Paint, or some photo editing program, and cut and paste from the screen shot images.

It tried this one and it is not fully customizable.

It did accept a 10-string tuning. Alas it puts a circle over every string at every fret and it does not have the 1, 3,& 5 only option

Dude, it took me about 1 minute to create this D Major triad chart with the 10-string C6 tuning you used in your original post.

The link I posted does everything you need, it just takes a little time to learn the interface.

Thanks Victor; I tried this site (http://www.UniversalChordMapper.com) and was unable to figure out how to put my tunings in to their interface.

To the left of the chart are the control icons to add strings and raise or lower the pitch of each string.

Any tuning can be customized into any other tuning using these controls.

You cannot delete strings, so start with a tuning that has no more than the number of strings that you need.

To start over, select a new tuning.

I was able to create my Dobro tuning.

It is interesting to me that my Internet Explorer version 11.0.9600.18499 does not render string 10 at the 100% zoom level but it does render it at the 75% and 125% levels.

Thanks Eugene for the zoom tip on MSIE.

I used to be a big fan of Internet Explorer, but have found it to be most problematic of late. Can't recommend it any more. Perhaps a change in zoom level will mitigate some layout issues that I've been having with IE.

Great the way you saved the chart by capturing the screen!

I recommend Firefox, but Chrome and Safari work OK...the bottom string displays properly in these browsers.
