Here is my version of "There's a tear in my beer" by Hank Williams, played on my 1954 Teisco R1. I bought this guitar from a shop in Japan, it has a nice wee voice, I hope you agree.
Anyone who wants an Mp3 of the song, or the backing to try yourself, just send me a PM with an email address included.

I usually upload to Myspace too but its jammed by Jackson fans I think.

James,
I hope there is some McGregor blood in your ancestry, as I'd like to call you a cousin.
That's some sweet playing.
Thank you.

The McGregor are a bit out of favour since Rob Roy stole the cattle, but you can still call me a cousin.
I'm glad you liked the track, I tried to do a little variation on the song as we know it.

Nice playing! I'd be interested to hear some technical details, such as tuning and how you put the backing track together. |

Hi Lynn,
The tuning I used here was a C6 Hi to Lo - GECAGE, the recommended strings for this are 10-14-18-24-26-34, but I use my guitars with various tunings so the strings here are really too heavy going up from a 54 bottom end to a 15 top.
I always, where possible use Midi Files for backing, I put them through Native Instruments Bandstand where I can change key and change instruments and tempo to suit myself. Bandstand also has 6 gig of really good instruments for the Midi File.
I play the guitar through a Vox Valvetronix and record using a Zoom H2 and put the tracks down on Adobe Audition, line them up and add effects and EQ.

Thank you Doug, I actually rolled off some of the treble, its sharper than this recording with the Amp switches set fairly neutral.
