Baritone Weissenborn Style by Celtic Cross... PLEASE CLOSE

Post by Jon den Boer »

With regret, I'm selling my Baritone Weiss... all Mahogany, with incredible deep resonance. This poor instrument is just not getting the time that it deserves. I've had a custom hardshell case built for it, costing $300. It has a Fishman rare earth humbucking pickup, which suits this well. String guages are .18 to .80 and Newtones are suggested, as they last incredibly long. More pics available upon request...the white specks are from my camera, not the case.

Priced to sell I believe, at 1200.00 all inclusive. Will split shipping... thanks for looking.

neil's guitars are great. I have a mahogany and a blackwood version of his standard 6 string. What tuning do you have on this one?

Thanks John, I agree... I still have a Kona style of Neil's that I love and play all the time. I keep this usually in 'A' with a D shape... sounds wonderful.

Hi Jon - is your Weissenborn still available?

I've been a low-tuned guitar fan for years & just went ape when I heard Jerry Douglas' studio version of "Monkey Let the Hogs Out". This was in C-tuning on what sounded like a Weissenborn - had only heard this done live in D. Anyway I was actually hunting online for a baritone squareneck reso when I came across your listing.

thanks
David

It is still available... have had interest, but no sale as of yet.

I love that song too. I'm pretty sure that it was played on a Kona. With this baritone, the highest you can really get the lowest string is an A. With these string guages anyway...

I will be delaying the sale of this for now... I found a hairline crack that I want to have fixed asap. I apologize for any inconvenience.
