I've been toying with this tune for 20 yrs and finaly tracked it to my satisfaction.Though I think it could use a piano bed. As you well know the mixing never ends.Have fun Ray

Ray-I just heard your fine profesional version of "Sweet Dreams", a beautiful song. I liked the way you did the intro and ending too, innovative. 5-28-09

John- Your friend ,Susan Trujillo, Her playing is getting good on that non-pedal on "Gonna find me a Bluebird" 6-1-09

Ray-your post of "You've got a Lover", good E9 playing.5-30-09

Chuck Lettes-your post of "Secret Love",5-30-09, sounds good to me. Swinging.

Thanks again to Charles Tilley for this wonderful Website so we can hear all these fabulous steel guitar players' recordings, right here on the Forum....al.:)

Thank you Al for the kind words on Susan's work on her music. Charles has posted my song for June but I need to have him to change the title...the new song is "All The Things You Are", its an oldie that I first heard on a Doug Jernigan album I bought back in the seventies.

John-I saw Susan's Video too. Very well done, Rainbows, Blue Birds and all. Good looking girl, too.

I 'll try and listen to your new song "All the things You Are". I always liked that song and was thinking of putting it on Tilley's site, as it is an old classic Big Band Jazz tune....al.:)

Blue Eyes crying

Post by Vernon Hester »

Thanks, John, Al.
John, its very easy.I run from a pre-amp into 2 lexicons, come out stereo from the lexicon into a small mixer.Do not use a mike or amp.Record with Sound Forge,Mix with Magix 6 software.
Al,
The MX200 lexicon was set on a dab of chorus left ch.
Small dab of Vibrato on right ch.
MPX 100 on delay and reverb.User/15/mix 9 o'clock.
Notice the bad edit on the C 6th entry point?.
But at my age anything goes.
best

I did attend the convention in St Louis, past August,
and had a great time. Another steeler, Roger Edgington, shared a room with me at the Millennium.

New Song-You'll Never Know"

Post by Al Marcus »

Tilley was kind enough to post my new song on his website. I did this on a S12 Carter about 2 or 3 years ago on my old Cassette recorder. The 20 year old machine was showing its age along with me. The clutches were noisy, but the song is in there, called "You'll Never Know How much I Miss You". This was a song that millions of us soldiers could relate to with thoughts from our wives and girl friends at home, during WWII in the 40's..al.:) 8) :\ .
