Topic: Any Publicity is Good Publicity? |

Recently, I've had some articles written about me by freelance writers and featurted in a couple of UK and Iternational guitar mags....Its weird being featured in the press. No control over what's written and in my case a lot of it has been about 'couragous overcoming disability' rubbish and patronising hero worship. Only two things I can say about that: 1. Having just been to the Dentist, I'm no hero and 2. We never overcome our impairments, differences, weaknesses; we just continually adjust to ever changing circumstances as we progress through life's milestones.
O.K. enough of me on my hobby horse, moaning.
At Last: Here is a good interview that concentrates on my music, my approach and my musicianship. i'm proud of.the outcome. There's words, music and video. Tom, the interview and the clips are excellent. thanks for sharing them. I've always enjoyed your music and you just keep moving forward.

You're right, for sure. Stories need to be told and messages delivered; its the way that they are delivered that is the important thing. i've had publicity recently, that would be on a par with making a big deal about stevie wonder being a visually impaired black man who sings a bit!
you're right too, music is accessible to all: all of those who are prepared to be creative and put the effort in. to me, playing lap slide is a hard way of doing things, if you have some form of disability too; then its still a hard way of doing things, but also with another set of challenges to address; which makes it all good fun! |

true there is away to emphasize our challenges that can end up being backhanded discrimination albeit unintentional. Some people just don't what to say or how to say it. |
