Alan. Its actually 7.5 LBS. Lighter than many Teles, unless its a featherweight.The Barden pickups are killer. Clean and articlate with more muscle than the
stock Fenders. They are expensive, and collectible too, as these are original Bardens.The re-issues are good, but these are nicer.

Its a very unique Tele. Sounds ands plays great too.The build quality is top notch, as it should be.

What is a phenolic core and what is its purpose?

The core is the center section od the body between the top and bottom pates. Phenolic is a fancy word for Teflon/Resin core.This is a very, very nice guitar. The construction is really top notch, and they arent cheap to build either.
