Jim H., it will be great to have you here. Come prepared to play a lot -for and with us.
John H. everyone is still talking about the time you were here and anxious to see and hear you again. Hope you can make it again soon.
Jim P., let me know for sure if you can make it. Working on the schedule now and need all the help I can get.
Hal H., let me know if you can be here for sure. Want to have you open the show as no one plays our "National Anthem" better than you. Gets us all off to the proper start. (And our Miss Minnie-Cayla Ann Kelton will be here hopefully and she will make us all stand for the Pledge of Allegiance as she did to the audience at the Dallas show). This, coming from a 12 year old girl is just what this country needs too!
Show is really shaping up and interest is growing as it always does. Thanks to all for this support.
Hank Corwin will be at my home Wed. morning and I will get some real lessons from one of the best. He and Ronnie Miley and Corky Tittle will be working up a great show for us. Add Herby Wallace, Joe Wright, Gordon Dodson, Clyde Bloodworth and all our regulars to the mix and everyone will have a really big time.
Looking for some new talent to show up from the Magee area also. I was really impressed with the players at the recent Magee, MS show and hopefully they will be able to be with us too. Currently waiting on confirmation from them.

Dssga Show

Well if Jim is going and Tommy is going, someone has to show them the way.Since I used to live about 1/4 mile from the center, maybe I can find my way to this wonderful event. Might sing a song or two, if I can find a steeler to help me.
One of the best shows anywhere, good food, good fun and great pickers.

DSSG Gets Better all the time

Post by Bill Stafford »

Just confirmed that "JUS TI FY" featuring Woody Hill on steel and the lovely and talented Katrina Wade on fiddle will be on our June 20 program. Gets better all the time folks as this group has the very best trio harmony singers anywhere in the business. Great enough to be on any stage or coliseum show in the world. Woody's steel playing is second to none also. They are based in Hattiesburg, MS and we, and especially me, will be delighted to have them on our program. Their music is so good it just makes you sit and listen. Thanks Woody and all the guys in Magee, MS for arranging this for us.
Schedule will be out soon.

Doc, will be good to see you again. Want you to be on the program>? Is that possible? Let me know.
Just confirmed another great player from Louisana-Joe Rogers will delight us all with his playing. One of the very best around. We will miss Buck Grantham, but Joe will fill in just fine. Really have a nice line up on the way for this one folks. More later.

Bill - I hate to keep putting you and the club off, but I'm still trying to ovecome a bad index finger (osteoarthritis). I practice and record myself most every day; I am makeing a lot of progress, but I probably have about 30% use of that finger. I have a CD for you: an album when I was with Johnny Bernero's band(Johnny was Elvis' first drummer). It was recorded at Sun by Sam Phillips and Jack Clement--1954, contains 7 songs. I also intend to send you a couple of songs that I will record this week here in my studio. 'Lookn' forward to the 20th.

Doc Hugh. be glad to see you again and only hope that you will be able to be on our program soon. We all miss Alvino Rey very much. Not many players around in yours and his catgegory anymore. All are anxious to hear you-especially me.
Talked with Corky Tittle yesterday-he, Ronnie Miley and Hank Corwin will be in the house for another knock out performance-second to none folks.
Schedule is almost complete and will be posted soon.
