Maryland’s oldest and most historic honky-tonk, Griff’s Place, hosts another incredibly special night of REAL country music on Saturday, April 24th at 9pm.
Local country singer/songwriter Ty Braddock welcomes his very special guest back once again, steel guitar legend Buddy Charleton. If you caught last year’s show then you know that the place was packed, and on fire with Buddy revisiting many of the great classic hits that he has played on throughout the years with Ernest Tubb and others. Don’t miss this great country show, showcasing a true pioneer of his instrument. Griff has made it a “no cover charge” evening, and hopes to see all the great people who came from around the country the last show to witness this legend that rarely plays live these days.
Ty Braddock was nominated for best country vocalist for 2002 and 2003 by WAMA, and makes no apologies for sticking close to the roots of country music. You will find him at Griff’s every Friday night with his “Branded Men band” featuring the best in country music that this area has to offer. His past “Special Guest Saturday” shows have held host to Redd Volkaert, Dale Watson, Chick Hall Jr, Tommy Hannum, Ricky Davis, Gary Lee Gimble, Bob Spates, Carl Nelson, and of course Buddy Charleton to name a few. Very cool news about Buddy, I miss taking lessons from him in Upper Marlboro also I noticed that Chick Hall Jr's name was mentioned, he's a superb guitar player and still playing on Kenilworth Ave in Bladensburg, MD at his dad's "Surf Club".

For any number of reasons, I wish I was there. I can almost smell the honeysuckle and see the black snakes trying to make their dash across the road to the old tobacco farm....
Seriously. I hope somebody has the presence of mind to record this evening, and hopefully be able to make a copy or two.
I still remember those evenings at Hunters Lodge with Roy, Sid, and the Justice Brothers like it was yesterday.
Anybody that gets to see this show is going to remember it a long time.
No doubt in my mind who The Best is..

Great show!!
Good meeting Paul and Buddy. Two Zums, two Session 500's, stage right. Both guys had room to shine and were terrific. Buddy...ahh!
Great roadhouse music in the honky tonk tradition.
What the h*ll was Buddy doing, holding the tone bar vertically for a couple of licks? Didn't get a chance to ask.
I did get to witness Paul's technique for handling drunks....
Also impressive
