Tony is right. If you enjoy playing the American Idol game, have at it. Personally, I think the winner is written into the show script long ago. As for the voting process, I think it's a farce, but it is the cheapest marketing tool to show the sponser how many people are taking so much interest in the show. I want Roller Derby back!

Does anyone notice a resemblance?
Here are some common wrestling terms:
Smark - A fan that knows what goes on behind the scenes, but still enjoys watching the events.
Promotion - A wrestling league, also known as a federation, or fed.
Face - A good guy, a character who is designed for the fans to love and emulate. Short for babyface. Hulk Hogan was a face for most of his career.
Heel - A villain, a character designed for the fans to boo. Examples include the Iron Sheik, Lance Cade and the Undertaker. Most characters will switch back and forth between face and heel during their careers.
Sell - Making the wrestling moves look realistic and painful.
Squash - A match in which a big name wrestles a nobody and beats him easily.
Push - When league management directs the storylines to make a certain wrestler a big star.
Angle - A part of the ongoing plot. For example, a feud between two wrestlers is an angle.
Job - To lose a match in order to help push another wrestler.
No-sell - When a wrestler stops selling his opponent's moves. Sometimes it's a part of the script -- the heroic wrestler gets a second wind and suddenly becomes invincible. Other times, it happens because of poor wrestling skills or because a wrestler decides to break kayfabe.
Screwjob - When a performer is double-crossed by either his opponent or the promoter he is working for. This refers to a legitimate double-cross, not one that happens within the context of kayfabe.

I have absolutely nothing to say about "Idol" (except it makes it makes it hard to get around the parking lot here at work), but I dug out this most ironic and least idolatrous of avatars when I realized it kinda went with the lyrical quote below. (The rest of you may know what that is behind me. I assume it's used in the show? It was being unloaded out of the studio a few seasons back when the action was done here and adjourning to the Kodak Theatre for the finale.)
"Gopher, Everett?"

Well, next week is the Finale.
I suppose ol' sidemouth has a good shot at winning it.
Adam did not have a good night at songs, or at least I felt.
It will be tough, and I don't think I can pick the winner - it could be any of the 3.
I am tired of seeing Kara Diaguardi's pits though.. I was thinking Jay Leno should do a bit about it where they show her sticking her arms up in the air on the show but then cut to a close up of a hairy armpit from one of the crew on his show. Now that would be funny.
BTW I heard Kara has a home here in Maine and that she met her fiance because he was the roofer on the house next door. She brought him a beer and now they are married or engaged or something. Not sure if its true or not.
Now back to your regularly scheduled pedal steel.....

Chris has alot of young girls calling.
I just don't GET the judges falling over Adam.
Danny's my pick!

Me either. In a million years Adam could not have sang either of the two songs that Danny sang, yet they are so far up his butt that even Chuck Norris Toilet Paper couldn't help themTheresa Galbraith wrote: I just don't GET the judges falling over Adam.
Every song that Adam sings is exactly the same hi pitch screeching, no variation and worse, he does it early on in every song , no build up to the "high note" as Ralph would say. Adam is one dimensional.
But he probably will win.

We like the show, we are not in any way glued to it, we just like it, but, for us, this season, the judges have ruined it. The consistent hype for Adam, the consistent praise while dissing other contenders is over the top. I guess the reason they are doing it is to influence voters or whatever, the other night when there were only three singers, how easy would it have been just to tell them all "good job" , they were all in it aiming for the final, instead, they each praised Adam and found some way to diss both Danny and Kris.
I doubt we will even watch the last show and for sure we will not pay attention next season. I think overall they are trying to prevent another Taylor Hicks but in doing that they have last there way, in my view.
Danny will still out sell both Kris and Adam, and I think long term, Kris will outsell Adam as well.
Miranda Lambert was a third place finalis, she is still the only Nashville Star contestant to make a career long term .
Daughtry didn't win, he is still the only rocker to make it to the big show from AI. All the rockers preceding Adam have come up dry, and so will he, in my opinion, he's just to hard to look at.

Needless to say, "I'm BUMMED"!
I've gotta watch it through now. Chris got some of Allison's votes as did Adam. One million separating each. 88 million calls, what will it be next week?
Anyway, may the best singer out of 2 win. The best singer has left the building JMHO! We'll be hearing alot from Danny Gokey in the future.......

I usually don't watch this show but Karen told me that she already said that it was written in the stars who is going to win.
Therefor I did watch a little bit of it the day before yesterday and yesterday evening.
I think that Bill is right about this whole thing.......it's rigged.
Seems that Simon ran out of money and needs a new milk cow.
This Adam dude does not stand a chance in these modern times. All this Aerosmith stuff has been chewed over 40times already and spit out.
IMO Theresa is right......the one that was voted out was the better one.
I am sorry Adam....but there is a saying about you.

I bought a dozen eggs last week they were all good at the store, when we got home 3 were broken. So much for the dozen theory ! I guess what I'm saying is Adam will be one of the broken eggs in the big picture which is already filled with big names and success, so far he sang Aerosmith and Zeppelin, and they loved how he copied them. They never said he was better than the original so what exactly does this mean ? He'll have a very good cover band I guess.
Adam did sing Cash and totally bombed. Cowell called it horrific and that was being kind. So much for the God thing. My take, if you can't sing a Cash song and do it justice, you are nothing more than one of the broken eggs.
But what do I know, I'm on the family room side of the TV !

Either you are a terrible driver or they didn't pack your groceries right.I bought a dozen eggs last week they were all good at the store, when we got home 3 were broken.
However......you probably knew what I was referring to Tony.I did not see that one where he did Johnny Cash but if you say it was bad it probably was.
That is exactly what I've seen......a bad copy.No effort to put a unique sound into that song.Just a copy of the original.and they loved how he copied them

Wow that No Boundaries song was terrible. I know the only reason they were forced to sing it was because Kara wrote it.
I am rooting for Adam, but a part of me says sidemouth will win it only because he should have been gone by week 2 and he is still there for some reason. Matt Girard and Gokey were clearly better than him. Don't we have enough Dave Matthews type singers out there already?
Will be interesting to see the finale tonight. I had picked Adam to win from the first show.
