I emailed Russ when I saw her. This young lady beams with love and a good upbringing. Its a very hard task to make it to the finals of Nashville Star, and she has. She has what it takes to make it. A pleasant surprise for us steelers here on the forum. You can be proud Pappa.
[This message was edited by Kevin Hatton on 03 April 2004 at 01:47 PM.]

Just finished watching Nashville Star and Jennifer was the best contestant. It’s plain to see she gets her good looks and talent, from both her parents. I just voted. You can vote on line at: http://nashvillestarvoting.idsociety.com/ or call 1-866-978-2705. Lets help her get the votes so she will be back next week.

We too voted for Jennifer last night.I think she is secure for the next show.
As mentioned above, the multiple voting can really kill a good strong peformer and raise a fool to the top of the bill.
Last year the second place guy, John Aurthur..as a singer/writer it's not thinkable that he was in second place..but he had an entire community riled up to support him and they eliminated some pretty good singers before the end. Thank God Buddy Jewel was the top seed at the end or this show would have been a bust. Lets hope something like this does not happen again.
Now John Aurthur is doing Monday morning commentary about this show on a SC radio station..you can see he went far..they let him talk..not sing..
They need to turn the finals into a single vote /person contest and if they can't do it give the final vote to a panel of 5 or 7 judges/artists/DJ's. Having one community vote for their guy 20 times each is not a contest.
I recently read where the 3rd and 4th place finishers ( Miranda and xxx ? ) of the first show do now have lable deals ( not Sony) and will have some sort of a CD released this year. Again..not John Aurthur who's 10,000 neighbors called in 20 times each in the first series. I'm thinking about the odd ball with the RED CAP..If he wins it all I'm gonna have a total fit.
At the end of the day if our Jennifer ( she's ours now ) has a couple of good commercial songs , and it appears that she does, she will get some good results/visibility out of this event , win, place or show..and thats a very good thing.
Late afternoon yesterday I was watching the George Strait concert on CMT ( it was really good) and the back-up gal singer was Marty Slayton, one of the booted singers last night. Now how about that !
