New Toy

Post by Howard Parker »

The wood is sassafras. You can see wide grain that is not evident in the pics. The pick guard is a "gun metal" perloid. The p/u is the Lollar "Chicago Steel", the bridge is aluminum and the tuners are grey colored mini Gotoh. I have it strung with Pearse nickel wounds. I'll play it in G and dropped D tunings.

Yes...It is black. Is there any other color? I've played it through a Carvin "Vintage 16" and a Fender "Blues Junior". It can be sweet or real nasty. Quite the vocal palette.

I forgot to thank HowardR for providing basic dimensions for a New Yorker.

Consider this to be the "mob version"! It resides in a modified gun case...

Funny you mention that George. I use a gigbag type tactical rifle case when I fly to take a steel with me for practice. Nobody has even looked twice at it! I slip a couple of tone bars in the magazine pockets! I thought they would want to take them as they fill your fist nicely in a fight.

Best,

Rich

Rich, the reason they don't look at your case, is because they are looking at you - such a sweet, innocent looking face! :? :\ :o

Aloha, :)

Here is my remake of a New Yorker, fitted with a Bigsby and waiting on the hand levers being fitted.
