Pure and Simple"
My new CD,"Pure and Simple", is now ready to become the next million seller... !
It's just what the name implies and features 11 songs all on E-9 and done mostly with just the A and B pedals and the E to Eb knee lever. There are a few exceptions to this in a few places, but 95% is done on those three.
I will have the new CD at the Dallas Show. I am also working on rythum tracks and chord sheets and with a little luck, will have those ready for the show too.
Song titles are: "Mansion on the Hill", "Tennessee Waltz", "Steel Guitar Rag", "Amazing Grace", "Making Believe", "What a Friend We have In Jesus", "The Last Letter", "The Old Rugged Cross", "Faded Love" (Patsy Cline version), "Statue of a Fool" and a new instrumental called "Honey B".
Gang, I don't know much about computers and how to do pictures and webpages and such, but maybe with a little help I'll have this done in a short while. In the meantime, contact me by email, phone or regular mail and I'll do my best to take care of you.
Thanks,
BB

I guess I should add that the CD is $15 plus packageing and postage which should be around 3 to 5 dollars, depending. I'm new at this and hope to be more proficient before too long !
Anyway, I'll be glad to try and answer any questions you may have.
The CD was recoreded stereo with my red "mica" 1970 Push Pull Emmons D-10 with George L stainless strings, a Goodrich MatchBox, an old Williams volume pedal, (a friend had borrowed my Goodrich 120 VP), a Peavey ProFex II, George L cables, a 7/8" chrome Erine Ball Bar, a red Herco thumb pick and two Newman "JB" chromed finger picks, and a few mistakes here and there. I went direct out of the ProFex into two channels in the board. That's about as much as I can think of right now. Whew,,,,that's a lot for a country boy to come up with. !
Thanks again,
BB

Just got off the phone from talkin' to Bobby.
I'm sending my money today! For those that don't know, Bobby Bowman picks! I had the pleasure of hearing Bobby and Junior Knight do a set together at NTSGA's "Super Duper Jam" this past October: It was what pedal steel guitar is all about. So, my advice would be: Order Yours Today!
P.S. "B-MAN": Remember,...think about me during at least one drink down there in Dallas, where the sun shines and the weathers warm.

Good Deal , Bobby- Just shows what you can do with 2 pedals and one knee lever, and good bar movement.

Bobby,
I don't know if I can add anything to the rave reviews you've received on your new CD "Pure and Simple". All the right words have already been sincerely and accurately used -"soulful", "finesse", "tasteful", "smooth" amongst others. What more can I say? - they all describe this great project of yours. After listening to several great CD's on the way home from Dallas Sunday -yours included, it was quite refreshing to hear your approach to some timeless classics. Your silk touch and style are what we all yearn for as steel players. You did good my brother - I'm proud to call you my friend.

Also bought Bobby's CD at the show...actually got to hear some of it before it was released. See, we're kinda spoiled down here, we get to hear Bobby on a fairly regular basis. For the rest of ya, get this CD or you will miss out on a truely fine artist...talent "Pure and (not so) Simple." Congratulations Bobby on the CD and may a dozen more follow!!

Great CD Bobby and great song selection…..and what a super job using only 3 pedals! This is “Pure and Simple” country music played by a master. Well done my friend, and I’m proud to have this addition to my collection.
It is my understanding that in the near future you will have a book of tab for this project so that all can “steel” your arrangements, and learn your 3 pedal philosophies. I’m looking forward to that!
I really enjoyed your set at the Dallas show and what
great tone from that Emmons!
Your friend, Russ

I'm listening to "Pure And Simple" as I type, and all I can say is "pure soulfulness, and simply beautiful."
The only thing I can compare Bobby's playing to that I've listened to lately is Jimmy Day's "Steel And Strings" album for heartfelt expression of melody, the lyrics of the song almost coming out of the speakers.
This is music that steel players of all playing levels should appreciate and enjoy. Congratulations to my brother BB for a fine piece of work.

I heard the album,Sat. eve,in Doc Yakes' room,& acquired it Sun. aft. VERY impressive.
I've said this before,& I'll say it again. "B.Bow" is 50% of the reason I attend the Tx. show. You'll not find a more congenial,& funny person,ANYWHERE!!

I played Bobby's cd many times driving back to SC from Dallas. This is one of the best productions I've ever heard from anyone and is topped only by his live performance at the show. His touch and tone are awesome. I was privileged to meet and talk with Bobby and discovered he is not only an outstanding musician but also a real gentleman. Bobby, we need to hear more from you.

Well, Mr. "B", it looks like everyone else has said what I think, so just let me thank you for "doing it good". Else, I heard you at the Jamboree, I bought the CD, I think it's great, and so are you. Build another album and I'll wear it out, just like I'm gonna' do this one. Super Job.

Folks, there is no guess work here. Bobby's tone and playing on the Dallas show is indicative of how the pedal steel should be played. Again, his tone was the very best over the entire weekend-bar none. His style tells you who he is and how he feels about his music. Great sounds Bobby. Looking forward to your presence here on the MIssissippi Gulf Coast for our DSSG&MA 3 April session. Hope that can be worked out.
Bring a few million of your CDs too. Really enjoyed seeing and hearing you this past weekend.

What a great CD. Bobby, this project say's volumes about you. I listened to it on the way home from Dallas, was very impressed, I'm listening to it as I write this post. The material is great and is so very soulful and tastefully done, as only you can do it. Super job my friend.
