Avoiding the work I really should be doing, here's my low-fi version of the Beach Boy's "In My Room" played in open D on my Benoit resophonic with a few Tele licks at the end just for fun.

The idea has possibilities. It's very difficult to make Brian Wilson's ballads sound good on an acoustic. And with such a simple tuning, no less. Real nice work on the changes across that first, "Roooooooooooom."

Very nice, Andy. A different beat, and the Beatle quote at the end was a surprise. Super playing!

Are you using your fingertips instead of picks? The attack sounds softer than what I usually hear from resonator guitars.

Thanks, Bob. Just regular fingerpicks but the mic was about 8 feet from the guitar, softening the attack. With a cheapo USB mic like the Blue Snowball you get marginally better sound by putting some air in front of it. I need to get a good mic and learn to have more patience in trying to get a good sound. I'm usually too impatient to try out an idea to worry about the recording any more that I absolutely have to.
