Becky Schlegel sings cool. Who is the steely ?

Post by Barry Gaskell »

Hi Guys
Becky Schlegel sings some cool country here.
Who is the steel player and what make is his steel ? Is it a Fessy ?
A cool player, who has that experienced 'time to think and play' prescence when he solos.
Nice harmonies and real Country

Barry,
The steeler is Joe Savage; a great player. I think the one that he is playing is a "Fessy", he also plays a blond Zum and maybe a few more.
Joe is on the forum, you might ask him; I am sure that he would respond.........

Hey Guys
Thanks for that.
Yep, definately some nice playing and I think your right Stan, On tenth glance it looks like a Zum.
Joe, well done bro' very nicely done. Live and with feel. A band with a lot to listen to and watch. Great to see.

Barry

I think that is a Fessy or at least the fingerboards are. Looks like they have longhorn steers on them to me...

Great picking and very tasteful.

It's a Zum.

You can see a frontal shot of the Zumsteel logo on the "Together Again" clip (from the same concert).

Hi Guys
I think it may be Fessy on 'Don't be angry' and a Zum on 'Together again'.
On 'Don't be angry' it looks to be a black fronted guitar (Fessy) and a natural wood colour on the other (Zum)
Maybe it was a two or three set show and he swapped steels.
Come on Joe, chime in and put us out of our misery.

That's it Barry Mr Chuck had it right on the 1st clip. I'm at work so I have to look quick. Joe plays a Fessy and a Zum now on the show. These go bacl a ways, that's Leroy Glacier on lead guitar, Leroy passed away a year or so ago. I don't get to watch the show much now days, when I started watching the show was an hour long then and Joe played another kind of steel, can't remember what kind it was though
