Although building a lap steel seems relatively straightforward, and there is also info available on the web, are there any recomendations for a book for building a lap (preferably a double neck).

thanks
super kristen

Here's an article from Popular Mechanics on how to build a doubleneck steel guitar.

I am not sure if they have any info on double neck consoles, but I purchased a CD on the subject sometime back from Randy Cordle at Bluestem Strings.
http://www.bluestemstrings.com
the CD has a lot information and helpful photographs, plans etc on it.
As I remember there was a lot of free information available at his website as well. Have a look you will not be disappointed.

Some excerpts from the Build Your Own Lap Steel Guitar book:
http://buildyourguitar.com/resources/lapsteel/

and here is the ordering page on Amazon.

You could build a double neck based on these directions.
