I seem to have stumped everyone with the blank. Black is the total absence of light. When the energy in the universe becomes spread over an almost infinite space, many trillions of years into the future, all that will be left will be total blackness.

There's no reason the Steel Guitar Forum, as a concept, having no matter, couldn't survive for ever. Unfortunately it would survive without members, without an internet, and without a website. Somehow I doubt b0b will be still be around in thirty trillion years.

What would a steel guitar sound like in the vacuum of space ?

If I play the steel guitar in the vacuum of space and there's no-one listening, is it still bad ?

There's hope for us yet.

It seems to me that empty space cannot be nothing; either it is something filled with something, or it alone, is something filled with nothing.

Consider this:
If you are playing out of tune, in the wrong key, with your bar off-fret, pushing the wrong pedal, and out of time with your band members, probably your audience will consider this nothing.

But, if you get sucked into a black hole, into a parallel universe, all of this might actually mirror the only way to play steel guitar correctly.

So yes, I say there is hope for us __ and hope is something.

The retail outlet of Melbourne booze specialists Totally Wild Cocktails, this converted stable makes for a very homey, rustic spot for a quiet bevvy.

And on a winter's evening it's a favourite haunt of local students and academics alike.

Much of the lovely 150-year-old building has been retained, including the vaulted pine ceilings.

There's a roaring fire on cold days, lots of candles, scatter rugs on the stone floors, comfy sofas that some of us remember as brand new in the 1980s but now count as "retro" and a relaxed loungey soundtrack.

There's a few beers on tap, a decent selection of wines, and of course, excellent cocktails, from the classics to the less predictable.

One tip, though: pass on the Harpic Heaven (ouzo, blue curacao and lemonade).
