Dreams of a dreamer--take a listen

Post by Bill Dobkins »

This is the fist song I ever heard Buddy Emmons and Darrell Macall do, they both became instant favorites of mine. In 2006 I had the pleasure of visiting Darrell and Mona and got to play this song with Darrell at thier home in Texas. Of course I've got to meet and listen to Buddy many times. Hope you enjoy the song. A lot of mistake's but oh well, I still consider myself a beginner. Go to my website and click on my music.

Hey Chuck, Scotty can make Lasagna and I'll make the Spaghetti and you bring the Vino. We'll have an old fashion Italian hoe down.
Bring Terry and Robbie with you.
Thank you all for the feed back.

Great job. Your vocal reminded me of Johnny Bush.

A fine job, Bill. I can tell you are really enjoying your Rit. I can detect, also, that your unique technique has not changed, and don't change that what ever you do, and of course the guitar sound has improved, but, I can't tell if you went direct to the board or mic'd your amp? I'm going to say you mic'd your amp this time? Don't keep us in suspenders! Share-The-Knowledge and Pass the Biscuits! rb

...is that a LE or SE VTL you have? I see VOX now has a ST model out now. My friend has a Line 6 POD XT Live which he has loaned me to try out so I think I will try your setup using it. Glad you made it back from the show safe and sound. I'm sure you have some good stories to share? rb

Royace, the tone lab I use is an effects processor, not an amp. Come see me.

Hey Joe thanks, glad you like it. Are you going to Baxter Springs this year ? We're working on getting Jody Cameron to come.

Hi Bill,
That's weird...Here, your underlined "my music" is bold black and nothing happens when I click the mouse on it. Nothing either, in your signature line.

Anyway, to the important stuff. That link worked and I must say that your voice impresses me. Although you definitely have found your own style and sound, I hear a hint of Johnny Paycheck here -without the rough edges- it is a very smooth and listenable voice.
Your steel backup is tasteful and clean.

Hi Bill, You sound great on both of them.
You should have done those in Mt. Vernon.
They would have been a great hit for you.
I even learned Dreams of a Dreamer, because
I thought you were going to sing it there.
That song Dianna is beautiful the way you do it.

Thanks Carl, That was the plan but when you get up there you forget everything and I forgot my list.
I enjoyed having you share the set.
